  • 2009, Time for Change

Cheesy title, but whatever.  I have a resolution for the new year.

    Be independent.

Now this can have a lot of meanings, but what I want to do this year is do more things alone, without the accompaniment of anyone.  I want to learn that its okay to do things by myself, that I don't need someone to come with me wherever I go, or be there with whatever I do.  Maybe this year, I can learn to be chill when I don't have anyone to visit or anyone to visit me.  Maybe I can learn to go to the movies alone, or take a quiet drive and find a random used bookstore and spend the day perusing first editions of random books.  I want to focus on the little things that are supposed to make life grand.  I would hate to live another year without exploring on my own, or wasting time waiting on people.  This year, it'll be about me and what I want to do and accomplish.

Next year, I'll probably quit using the word "I" so much, lol.

  • Stomach aches and pains

The day before yesterday, a sharp pain ran up and down my stomach area.  This pain felt like at times, a dull knife making its way in and out of my abdomen in a twisting fashion.  The pain still has not stopped.

Last night the pain became excruciating as I tried to get to sleep.  Drinking hot tea seemed to alleviate it some before sending another shock of pain minutes later.  While laying in bed, I was contemplating what could have caused this agony.  It could have been the food, but the boyfriend and I were sharing food all day.  He wasn't feeling ill.

Then as sudden as the attack, I realized, it could have been the energy drinks that I have been guzzling lately.  The past few days, I've been drinking a few energy drinks I bought at Big Lots.  The bottles are usually $2 a piece so when I found them for 70 cents, I jumped and bought nearly the whole shelf.  I guess buying cheapo stuff at Big Lots should have been my first red flag.  Another red flag should have been the bottles' unusual design, and the drinks' inconsistency and pale color.  There was no expiration date, so I didn't have any indication of how old those bottles were.  I guess I should have known, but then again, this contemplating was all done in hindsight.

Being a thrifty person, I couldn't pass up the ridiculous deal.  Now I suffer from the consequences.  I think I might just stick to paying full retail, at least for food.

A few more days should do it, and I'll be well in no time.  Hopefully.

  • Ginnie Springs!

I didn't get to take any pictures, but it was an awesome trip!  My first time camping, and it was so much fun!  We chilled, ate a bunch of chicken hotdogs, had a bunch of beer and tried a new drink concoction:  apple cider and vodka.  It was pretty good, but it was spicy to me.  We also went to the springs and floated down the river, it was so cold... it fucked with me until the end of the second day when I was just like, man, I wanna play, and just jumped in.

There's an underwater camera that we used, I'll try and get it developed and maybe post pictures up on myspace or something.
